3 Out of 5 Stars
The debut from Parachute finds the band landing square in the Adult variation of alternative pop, alongside of bands like The Fray or Maroon 5. And like those bands, they depend on a strong sense of melody and a charismatic lead singer, Will Anderson. In fact, he sounds so much like Maroon 5 main man Adam Levine on the single "She (for Liz)" that you would be forgiving if you thought it to be one of Levine's.

It makes "Losing Sleep" a solid entry into the pop sweepstakes. The album contains the usual topics about love and relationships, like the soulful "She is Love" (and the more radio-oriented re-mix). They highlight of this album for me was "The New Year," which rocks a bit harder and recalls Rob Thomas when Matchbox 20 was at their peak. With this much going for them, Parachute's "Losing Sleep" is one hit single away from being a breakout band.
